HELP US SPONSOR TEN YOUNG SINGLE MOMS AND THEIR CHILDREN THIS CHRISTMAS!

We are excited to report that in less than a day and a half, every single item off of these ten registries has been purchased! THANK YOU!

THE RECIPIENTS

We asked Canadian Pregnancy Resource Centres and Maternity Homes to submit the names of clients who they thought would most benefit from some Christmas cheer! Applications came in from across the country. We chose ten women who are in great financial need who are trying their best to better their lives for their children.

We’ve set up an Amazon gift registry for each mom based on her particular needs and wishes. When you purchase an item, it will be delivered directly to her.

Please be sure to choose the correct shipping address! It will be marked as the ‘Gift Registry Address’.

ROSE

QC

Rose has had a heartbreaking life filled with abuse and trauma. Encouraged into prostitution by her own mother, Rose spiralled into a deep depression and heavy drug addiction. Her now 10-month-old daughter was conceived by rape. The rapist, whom she knew, then tried to force her to have an abortion after he found out she was pregnant. No charges were ever pressed. Rose states, "Even though I was raped, I thank God every day for my daughter. She is the greatest gift I could ever receive. She was the wakeup call I needed to get my life straight after years of heavy drug use". Rose lives in serious poverty and struggles with day-to-day tasks due to depression, but has enthusiastically plugged into her local community. She is learning new skills and is committed to being the best mom she can be. This is such a blessing to her!

ARIEL

QC

A year and a half ago, Ariel left her work as a prostitute, the money that came with it, and a partner who was very abusive and controlling. She has broken free from heavy drug use and addiction. She found herself pregnant again quickly after her first son and has made the choice to keep her new little one. She is estranged from her family. Ariel is currently suffering extreme nausea, muscle pain and cannot work, but is hoping to start a small independent nail service business. Though she has so much working against her, she is fully committed to her children and sacrifices so much to be a good mom. Ariel has felt overwhelmed between covering basic needs, Christmas, and her new little one's arrival; she is so grateful for this support.

NICOLE

BC

Nicole grew up in the foster care system. Her baby's father was verbally and physically abusive. She decided to leave him, to break the cycle and provide a safe and stable life for her son. Nicole is currently sleeping on her friends couch as she waits for low-cost housing. She is also working towards her high school diploma. Nicole is a terrific young mom who adores her son.

RUTH

ON

Ruth became pregnant at 18 years old. Her baby's father was not accepted by her family and community, so she moved into a young parents' residence program. Ruth remained in the residence program until 3 months after her daughter Grace was born. When Grace was still very small, her father passed away in a tragic accident. Since then, Ruth has worked hard to advance her education in the dental field, but recently lost her job and is now searching for work. Despite raising her daughter almost completely alone, Ruth consistently and without fail puts her daughter's well-being above all else.

DANIELLE

ON

Danielle was hospitalized with extreme postpartum depression after the birth of her second child. This strained her relationship with the father of her first son, and her visitation schedule with her son. With little to no support Danielle felt hopeless. Given the opportunity to stay in a maternity home, Danielle is thriving and learning to care for her sons and herself. She loves her boys and is so thankful for the support of her community.

HAILEY

NS

Hailey was sexually abused as a child by family members, and moved between foster care and group homes until she was 16. Battling addictions, she found herself pregnant in an abusive relationship. Hailey lost hope when her son was taken into foster care at 18 months. She became pregnant again, and after being hospitalised for another beating, decided to make a change. Hailey lived in a youth shelter, sought out mental health support, and took parenting and relationship classes through her pregnancy care centre. She found a new place to live, regained care of her son, and together with her support system she is determined to be a great mom to her two little ones.
